DIGITAL DOMAIN PARK
PORT ST. LUCIE, FLORIDA
ST LUCIE METS
FIRST USRT VISIT: JULY, 2012

Opened in 1988, the Spring Training home of the New York Mets sits amidst an
upscale planned community named "St. Lucie West". The fortress like facade
and gates open up to a narrow concourse with no field views, and very ordinary
electronics. The tiki bar down the left field baseline is the place to hang out and
be seen.

HAMMONDS STADIUM
FT. MYERS, FLORIDA
FT MYERS MIRACLE
FIRST USRT VISIT: JULY, 2012

There are two teams that hold curt in Ft. Myers - the Twins and the Red Sox.
Minnesota is headquartered here at Hammonds Stadium, with a gentiel
southern plantation style home plate, fountains, and a seating bowl with not a
scintilla of shade. Great food selection!

FLORIDA AUTO EXCHANGE STADIUM
DUNEDIN, FLORIDA
DUNEDIN BLUE JAYS
FIRST USRT VISIT: JUNE, 2014

A neighborhood ballpark located north of the St Pete/Clearwater area, this has
been the home of the Toronto Blue Jays since the franchise's inception in
1977. The Jays' imprint is evident throughout the stadium, complete with
singage bearing the Jays' "font", to banners in the concourses displaying
Toronto greats, to a simple plaque near the pressbox elevator honoring
legendary broadcatser Tom Cheek.

STEINBRENNER FIELD
TAMPA, FLORIDA
TAMPA YANKEES
FIRST USRT VISIT: JUNE, 2014

This fortress of a ballpark, originally named Legends Field, sits right across the
street from Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL Tampa Bay
Buccaneers, and can best be described as a mini Yankee Stadium, right to the
replica gables which adorn the top of the grandstand roof. There is a mini
Monument Park on the grounds which cherish the Yankees greats, and
massive concourses and public spaces.

CHARLOTTE SPORTS PARK
PORT CHARLOTTE, FLORIDA
CHARLOTTE STONE CRABS
FIRST USRT VISIT: JUNE, 2014

Originally the spring training home of the Texas Rangers, the facility underwent
a massive renovation in 2009, and has been the home of the Tampa Bay Rays
ever since. It is located pretty much in the middle of nowhere outside of Port
Charlotte and North Port, and is pretty much your basic no frills functional
spring training and minor league ballpark

BRIGHTHOUSE FIELD
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA
CLEARWATER THRESHERS
FIRST USRT VISIT: JUNE, 2014

A really nice and bucolic setting, with a tiki bar in left field and a beer stand
selling over 100 different offerings. About the only disappointment here are the
cheesesteaks. Philly's great culinary gift to the world is a prepackaged and
poorly presented mess.

SPACE COAST STADIUM
VIERA, FLORIDA
BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES
FIRST USRT VISIT: JUNE, 2014

Interestingly, the FSL team here is affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers, and
have absolutely no connection with the Spring Training tenants. On the way in
to the yard, check out the statues of the space shuttle and a quirky statue and
marker for Casey At The Bat.

ROGER DEAN STADIUM
PALM BEACH FLORIDA
PALM BEACH CARDINALS
FIRST USRT VISIT: JUNE, 2014

Two FSL teams share this venue. The Cardinals are here after a long time stint
in St. Petersburg. The architecture is unique, a stucco style Mediterranean feel,
and located in a really cool neighborhood called Abacoa, with a great choice of
retail and restaurants just steps from the stadium's front door.

JACKIE ROBINSON BALLPARK
DAYTONA, FLORIDA
DAYTONA CUBS
FIRST USRT VISIT: JUNE, 2014

Located on an island, this entire stadium is a veritable museum to the life and
career of Jackie Robinson, starting with the statue behind home plate to the
many exhibits and displays in the concourses. The most poignant mural is
located down the first baseline, a bleacher section and picnic porch which was
once relegated to negroes in the days when blacks and whites were seated
separately. In all likelihood the best venue experience in the Florida State
League.

MCKECHNICE FIELD
BRADENTON, FLORIDA
BRADENTON PIRATES
FIRST USRT VISIT: MARCH, 2003

McKechnie Field could be called the Fenway of Florida, having been around for
over 90 years. Recent renovations have added lights, new contoured seats, but
the building still retains a wonderful charm and an Old Florida type of feel. The
venue is used by the PittsburghPirates during spring training, and is the home
of the Bradenton Marauders of the Florida State League.

JOKER MARCHANT STADIUM
LAKELAND, FLORIDA
LAKELAND FLYING TIGERS
FIRST USRT VISIT: MARCH, 2003

The team is called the"Flying" Tigers in commemoration of an airfield and Air
Force base which stood here during World War 2. Joker Marchant Stadium  has
that cool Florida architecture, and recent renovations have made this a very
user friendly venue. The Detroit Tigers' relationship with this community goes
back over 75 years.
Most of the venues on this list serve double duty... in March they are Spring Training homes for MLB teams, and in the summer
they serve as venues for the A level Florida State League
.
  FORMER VENUES

CHAIN O' LAKES PARK
WINTER HAVEN, FLORIDA
FIRST USRT VISIT: MARCH, 2003

The stadium served as the spring training home for the Boston Red Sox and
then the Cleveland Indians. The ballpark has been vacant since the Indians left
after 2011, and there is talk of demolishing the stadium for retial
redevelopment.

OSCEOLA COUNTY STADIUM
KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA
FIRST USRT VISIT: MARCH, 2003

The stadium servies as the spring training home of the Houston Astros, and
was once the home for Florida State League baseball. With 5300 fixed seats, it
is the smallest stadium in the Grapefruit League.

AL LANG STADIUM
ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA
FIRST USRT VISIT: MARCH, 2003

Built in 1947, the downtown St. Petersburg stadium has been used almost
exclusively for baseball, serving as a spring training venue and a once Florida
State League venue. Since the Tampa Bay Rays vacated, the facility hasn't had
a baseball tenant, and is now used primarily as a soccer pitch.

CHAMPION STADIUM
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA
FIRST USRT VISIT: MARCH, 2003

The upscale and modern ballpark is located on the Disney property at the
ESPN Wide World of Sport and serves as the spring training home of the
Atlanta Braves The building was once a AA venue in the Southern League, but
the Orlando Rays departed after very poor attendance.

JACK RUSSELL STADIUM
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA
FIRST USRT VISIT: MARCH, 2003

The longtime spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies was tucked into
a residential neighborhood near downtown Clearwater. The team moved to
their modern new ballpark, Brighthouse Field, along US 19, following the 2003
season.
